Which Social Media Platform is best for Educators?

Which is the best social media platform for educators? In this episode, I focus on X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn, sharing my personal experiences and insights on how these platforms have evolved into essential tools for professional growth and networking in education. The discussion emphasises the unique features and community dynamics of each platform, highlighting how they can facilitate meaningful conversations and connections amongst educators and thought leaders.

Key Quotes:

  1. "I prefer to use X… I know this is quite a controversial statement to many."

  2. "On LinkedIn, because someone's put a lot of effort into [a post], you often get very positive comments. There's generally much less challenge... on LinkedIn than X." -

  3. "When the original poster has posted an idea... on X, it's much more equal when someone comments because their comment will also be short."

  4. "Elon Musk has big plans for this platform including making it what he calls an everything app."

  5. "I love those audio communities [on X]... The … idea for me is to bring everyone onto the mic and have an equal conversation about something."
